Marin to wear number 8 jersey this fall

Tullahoma High School football fans weren’t dreaming during the last couple of preseason scrimmages. The number 8 jersey was back out on the field again making plays for the Wildcats.

In April 2016, Grow a then-senior, died in a car accident. Grow, 17, had built a reputation for himself as one the one hardest-working players on and off the field in the school’s history and had signed his letter of intent to continue his playing career at Mississippi College in Clinton.

The number 8 jersey was unofficially retired last year. However, this spring, the Wildcats’ coaching staff decided to bring it back, as a way to honor Grow and the current player who best exemplifies his work ethic. The coaching staff announced a competition among skill players, with the winning player earning the right to don Grow’s number.
